Nail Enhancements

Liquid & Powder (L&P) or Gel systems can be used to lengthen, support or jazz up your own nails. If you suffer from short, weak or bitten nails then this could be the treatment for you.

The most popular systems are:

Liquid & Powder - L&P (often referred to as acrylic) - The most popular, and strongest, type of artificial nail. It's a combination of a liquid and a powder, mixed together to make a strong resin. Ideal if you have a busy lifestyle, or are a little heavy-handed.

Gel - More flexible than acrylic, although not quite as strong. The product is cured (set) using a UV light.

These systems can be applied as:

- Overlay's are applied directly on the natural nail to provide strength and allow nail polish to last longer. This is good for individuals who can maintain the length but the nail is weak and brittle.

- A full set of L&P or Gel can be applied over the top of a false plastic tip that adheres to the nail to make it longer. For individuals who are unable to grow their desired nail length.

- L&P or Gel can be sculpted using a form to add length. This option is only available when the individual has a slight free edge to work with. This is the best option as no glue is used and there is no tip blending. Again great for individuals who are unable to maintain their desired nail length.

All nail enhancements require 2-3 weekly infill’s/rebalances to ensure your nails stay looking their very best. If you leave it any longer than this it could result in a product breakdown and lifting can occur.

The aftercare advice provided should be followed to ensure you get the very best out of your new nails, but if any lifting occurs or you have any concerns these should be addressed as soon as possible.

I use a range of products to provide you with the very best, for my Liquid & Powder (acrylic) products I use Creative (CND).

- Treatment times vary from 1 1/2 to 2 hours

- Nail Enhancement treatment prices starting from £15.50, for additional information please visit my prices page.

Home Care - To make the very best of your nail extensions

Your new nail enhancements will require looking after and caring for to maintain their beauty. TREAT YOUR NAILS AS JEWLES, NOT TOOLS!

Please read the following guidelines.

- The first 24 hours after application are crucial as the product is still settling down.
- Use cuticle oil every day - I recommend Solar Oil
- Ensure you have regular maintenance appointments every 2-3 weeks.
- Always use a Non-Acetone Nail Polish remover when removing nail polish.
- Use the pads of your fingers when lifting - not the tips of your nails. Knuckles are also a good source of help with difficult jobs.
- Wear gloves when doing dirty jobs - gardening, painting, fake tans, hair dyes etc. and also when using hardy chemicals like bleach, oven cleaner, bathroom cleaner - anything corrosive.
- Do not attempt to use nail clippers, scissors or metal nail files should your nails appear too long. This will shatter the enhancement. Always use a nail file.
- Do not pick at your nail enhancements.

A full aftercare sheet will be provided after your treatment.
